It is easy to just stop smoking, but the hardest part of quitting comes after you stop. The cravings for cigarettes, the frustration, the irritability, tiredness etc. are just a few of the side effects that you may expect when you stop smoking.

When you quit, do not expect your body to accept the new change in your lifestyle in a moment. It can easily take a week or even a month before your body fully recovers from the sudden change in the nicotine intake. The amount of time before your body acclimates to the new and healthy habits can differ from person to person. However, the side effects are mostly psychological and with a few therapies (like hypnosis), it can be minimized easily.

When you quit smoking you can expect the following changes in your physical and mental behavior.

1. Headaches. Headaches could be attributed to the smoking cessation. But headaches can only be expected within one or two days after quitting. If you experience headaches even after two days of quitting, then you should go see a doctor. Headaches can be easily waned by an aspirin or even by a quick nap.

2. Insomnia. For some people sleeping becomes difficult after they quit smoking. But the problem is mainly psychological rather than physical and can be easily cured by therapies, or by simply following a strict sleeping routine. It is recommended that you do not resort to sleeping pills unless you feel there is no other choice.

3. Behavioral problems. One may experience irritability, frustration, anger, uneasiness etc. after they stop smoking. This behavior is only natural and should not be fretted upon. It is going to fade away after a maximum of one week after you quit. The best way to counter this side effect is to tell your friends and family in advance that you are going to stop smoking and tell them that they can expect such behavior from you. People are generally supportive when you want to quit and they will co-operate with your bad behavior.

4. Intense craving for cigarettes – People generally associate smoking with their day to day activities like driving, drinking coffee, after lunch, after dinner, office work etc. When they stop smoking, one of the side effects is that they feel that they are not able to give their hundred percent to these activities just because they miss the cigarettes in their hand. This effect is again psychological and will fade away with time. Once you start to realize that you are much better off without cigarettes, you will actually become more efficient in these day to day activities and perform better. Therapies are also helpful in making people subdue these intense cravings.

If you think about it for a moment, the benefits of quitting are a thousand times more than the side effects. Do not waste your time thinking how hard it will be to stop smoking, and what the side effects will be. Instead, just go for it and find out for yourself that it isn’t that hard and the benefits are just astounding when you actually are able to quit.

You have many reasons why you need quitting smoking. It is for your own health and your family’s welfare. During smoking, many smokers proudly blow off ‘smoke rings’. Remember, they are not ‘puffing off’ but ‘getting into’. Though they are blowing away the smoke, the poisoning ingredients stride slowly to the lungs to affect total health. So, take care to quit smoking and save yourself if you are a smoker for the following benefits:

1. If you are able to use your ultra Will power to throw off one cigarette from your lips it means you are on the way to success to clear your packet without cigarettes.

2. You can see your purse value increase.

3. Be sure, you can improve your health by protecting your lungs from being damaged with smoke fumes.

4. You will gain more attachment of your ‘Loving Dear’ without bad odor that may evolve from your mouth.

5. Your life span extends with a healthy body.

Is it possible to quit smoking? I know you are in a dilemma whereas I am clean as I am a non-smoker. I have embedded in my heart a strong Will of ‘Never to smoke’. Though some of my colleagues tried to make me a smoking comrade to share with them they couldn’t drag me to their whims. Of course, I had the habit long years ago but now the gloomy days are gone, and I have over ridden the dragon of life threatening moments. I feel more proud to call me as non-smoker with less similar friends than to be in smoke illusions with many smokers. Aren’t you interested to be recognized as a non-smoker than simply to try to stop smoking tentatively? Though it is not as easy as one may think to become a non-smoker, it is quite possible to attain the goal with one’s Will.

Execute your Will to quitting smoking

Most smokers might have started smoking perhaps when they were in their twenties. They could have started with two or three cigarettes to a packet or two per day. Though many smokers make decision to quit smoking when their health is affected, they do not know exactly the right way – how to get rid of smoking. When they are diagnosed with lung damage or burning throat they strive hard to find a solution to their ailment. They know well how tough it will be for them to stop smoking. But they are not seen to execute their Will power which has an emphatic role to motivate their thoughts against smoke illusions.

Quitting smoking benefits you, your friends, your loved ones, strangers you meet on the street, you name it. Everyone around you benefits when you stop smoking. But how do you do it? It seems so easy, a simple phrase; “I want to quit smoking.” But in reality it is one of the hardest habits for people to break.

But you can be one of the lucky ones who give up smoking the easy way and start enjoying the many benefits of a smoke-free life. You do not have to struggle, you do not have to keep trying failed attempt after failed attempt, and you do not have to continue suffering the life of a smoker.

What are the quitting smoking benefits you will enjoy once you finally kick the smoking habit? You probably already know; here are just a few:

More Money
Better looking teeth, skin, hair, etc.
Better Sex Life
Improved Health
Higher Quality of Life
Reduce the Chances of Numerous Diseases that can Lead to Death

And that is just a few of them. Stopping smoking is the number one, best thing that you can do for yourself. You deserve to live a smoke-free life and if you give me just a moment more of your time I can help you get on the path to becoming a non-smoker.

You see, the secret to becoming smoke-free easily is to make sure you are addressing the real reason why you continue to smoke. The answer, of course, is because you are addicted. But, it is not only because you are addicted to nicotine. Your addiction to smoking is much more a psychological than a physical one.

The physical addiction to nicotine actually passes with a week or so when you cease smoking. But the psychological addiction that manifests itself as cravings to smoke can go on for a long time after you actually quit. It is why some people never become comfortable as non-smokers and why most people fail at quitting smoking.

But you can be one of the successful ones who quit smoking right away and permanently by using a smoking cessation technique that targets and removes the mental cravings to smoke. Once these cravings are addressed it is easy to quit smoking forever.

The smoking cessation method that is most effective at removing the cravings to smoke is NLP, or Neuro Linguistic Programming. NLP is a powerful form of hypnotherapy that addresses the psychological addiction to smoking. It effectively removes the cravings to smoke from your subconscious clearing the path to a smoke-free life.

Recent tests have shown that NLP is extremely effective at helping people to quit smoking. It is simple to stop smoking with NLP as it is not necessary to visit a therapist. There are a number of NLP based recordings that all the smoker has to do it listen to in order to have the cravings to smoke removed. There is no easier way to stop smoking and begin enjoying quitting smoking benefits than using NLP.

If you are in the right frame of mind there are virtually no side effects of quitting smoking. Many smokers are brainwashed into thinking they will suffer terrible side effects when attempting to quit. A whole industry has been built upon this, the best example is nicotine replacement therapy. Virtually every single advert on this subject involves telling smokers they will require willpower to deal with the withdrawal symptoms.

This very lucrative industry preys on the fragile mental state of smokers. However, this is not true. Many smokers are very strong mentally. The industry with the most smokers is the medical profession. Now you cannot tell me that doctors and nurses have fragile minds. These people make life and death decisions on a daily basis. They are as strong willed as anyone.

So why is it that when it comes to stopping smoking, most smokers accept that they will have to go through a period of mental anguish and suffering? Because they have been brainwashed into thinking this is the case.

When you stop smoking your brain will tell you it wants more nicotine. You now face the withdrawal symptoms, which is all in the mind. There are no physical symptoms, you don’t start shaking if you can’t relieve these symptoms. All you know is that there is a little itch that needs scratching.

If you are not prepared this little itch can be very powerful. You will spend all day hoping it will go away. But whilst you are in this frame of mind it will only get worse. It starts as soon as you wake up. Within a few minutes of waking your brain has begun telling you that it wants its fix of nicotine. It hits you like a sledgehammer, after all you have just gone around 8 hours without smoking while you were asleep. Where you kept awake all night by these symptoms?

If you ask a smoker to last 8 hours through the day without smoking they will find it very difficult because while they are awake their brain is demanding nicotine. This constant assault on your brain makes concentrating on anything a chore. This is why many smokers feel irritated and anxious when attempting to quit. It is like a leaking tap going off in their head, slowly dripping all day long.

It does not have to be like this. When I tried to quit smoking in the past I felt exactly like this. It drives you insane, there is no getting away from it. The reason is that i was unprepared to deal with these mental effects of quitting smoking. Not long into my attempt i could not hold out any longer and the inevitable happened.

When I successfully quit I was totally prepared, and I had no feelings of deprivation or cravings from nicotine. In fact i enjoyed purging the nicotine from my body. I had no side effects at all, and in my opinion this is the best way to quit smoking, but you can only do this if you know how. Nicotine patches only make things more difficult, they keep nicotine in your system and this keeps your brain thinking about nicotine. The best way to stop smoking is to rid yourself of nicotine straight away, which in turn will stop your brain thinking about nicotine. The sooner this happens the sooner you will be free.
