Programs

We offer many public and outreach programs.  Please join us for these fun and enlightening events at Woodbourne. All events are free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Jerry Skinner at 570-278-3384 or by email.

Meet in the parking lot on Rt. 29 for all events unless otherwise indicated.

June 23 8:45-9:45 pm Lightening Bugs-a brief discussion about the lives of lightening bugs will be followed by a trip to a meadow to look for some of the different kinds we have locally.
26 9-11 am Birdbanding-we will catch birds, put a band on their legs and release them.  A great opportunity for kids and to get close up photos.
July 4 10 am-noon Dragonfly survey-join us as we visit several areas of the Preserve to see what dragonflies are out at this time of the year.  We'll try to catch and identify what we find.  We will be working in wet areas, so waterproof footwear is a good idea.
5 All day Find us on the Green in Montrose at our booth for the 4th of July celebration.  A new model of T-shirts will be unveiled and available for sale.
6-9 9 am - noon Nature Classes for young Naturalists.  Click here for details.
16 8-930 pm Sugaring for Moths-Night is the time that many insects come out.  Using a mysterious sugary sweet concoction and blacklights, we will try to lure in moths and other nocturnal insects for close views.
